Dear Members of the Lawrence Hockey Association (LHA),
The schedule for the Lawrence Flames pre-season hockey camps was recently announced and is posted on the Lawrence Flames website. We look forward to beginning the 2010-2011 hockey season with the start of these hockey camps. The week long hockey camps start in late July with Midgets and then move through Bantams to Mites in August, and end during the first week in September. Scott Bertoli and Vince Williams, from the Trenton Devils, will lead the Flames camps. Please see the Lawrence Flames website (www.lawrenceflames.org) for more details on dates and times. Thank you to Beth Bidwell and Frank Whittaker (LHA Board Members) for scheduling the camps.
You should know that the LHA Board of Trustees is meeting on a monthly basis to plan for the upcoming season.
§ Beth Bidwell is working on the season schedule & the organization-wide tournament.
§ Bill Kop’Kash is working on recruiting efforts for our developmental hockey program, an important effort to attract young kids to Flames hockey.
§ Craig French is working on developing and/or leveraging parent education programs and community grant opportunities.
§ Daniel Guest is working on the October golf fundraiser and other fundraising events.
§ Frank Whittaker is preparing the coaching staff for the camps and season start.
§ Jerry Kolber manages the registration process for the Flames.
§ Jerry Walther has secretarial duties for the LHA and collaborates on activities.
§ John Bautz manages the finances for the Lawrence Hockey Association.

§ Paul Truban is working closely with NJYHL & USA Hockey to capture and explain any rule, policy and procedure changes coming down from these governing bodies.
§ Wayne Schadler, our equipment manager, is ensuring the successful fulfillment of equipment orders.
Coaches are already planning for the 2010-2011 hockey season and considering various tournament options for their teams, in addition to the LHA sponsored tournament. You will start receiving more and more communication from your child’s coach as the season approaches. I encourage each of you to develop a good rapport with your child’s coach and assistant coaches and pay careful attention to the guidance that they provide.
Team Managers will work closely with the Head Coaches to schedule games and to arrange for tournaments. The Team Manager is an important source of information who will provide regular communication to parents/guardians about practices, games, events and activities for the respective teams; so, please pay careful attention to their communication and respond promptly to their requests.
On behalf of the LHA Board of Trustees, we hope that you are enjoying the start of summer and taking advantage of the warm weather. Soon enough, we will be back on the ice playing the coolest game on earth.
Sincerely,
Dave Kocsis (LHA President)
